Better late than never, I guess

I just added a photo album with some pictures of the wedding. I got to 10 pictures, then ran out of "Browse to Add" slots. I'll have to add more later or maybe put them on photobucket.

A few words about being married... "They say" that being married will make you face flaws you never knew you had. Well, it's true. Maybe you all knew that I stubborn, condescending, argumentative, insensitive, unenthusiastic, noncommittal, selfish, and hard-of-hearing, but I, um... well, yeah, I knew it too (except for the hard-of-hearing bit). I just didn't think it was all that bad. You mean someone can actually get his/her feelings hurt if I laugh at them? Pshaw! My tendency to add caveats and qualifiers to every statement can be frustrating?!? Reminding people of all the obstacles and the ways that a plan can fail is kind of a downer? I suppose that having someone correct you all the time might get irritating, but come on... I don't really do that, do I?

Poor Mike.

"As one does not wish for wanting, one does not want for wishing."

Just thought that might make a nice "old proverb" type of saying.

Eventful weekend

So, Mike and I got engaged, Dad ended up in the hospital with congestive heart failure and internal bleeding, and I turned 30. I didn't quite make it to Dawn's wedding, unfortunately, but I hear it went well.

Here's the site that has lots of photos of Back to Methuselah, since I'm too lazy to wade through them and actually post the pictures: http://s206.photobucket.com/albums/bb54/macnag/Methuselah/

I added a photo album for Back to Methuselah pictures (our summer play). There's only a few in it at the moment, but I plan on grabbing some more from a photobucket site. Bonus: Mike (my wonderful, sweet, talented boyfriend) is in a couple photos.

wow, it's been two months

I'm obviously not that interested in maintaining this blog at this time, but I think I'll provide an update from time to time - and maybe someday I'll come back to it regularly.

  • I performed in our second semester show, but I made mistakes in every one of the five performances. However, because I was wearing a latex bald hood/cap and mask, I was truly unrecognizable and therefore can pretend it wasn't me. I also got to keep the hoods and masks, as well as the plaster cast of my head.
  • I have a boyfriend, Mike, who is also an acting student at LCC. He is two years younger and two inches shorter than me. I'm still trying to get used to what it means to be in a "dating" relationship. Not my forte.
  • I am now the developer responsible for a major application at work, and we have major release of that application scheduled for deployment in a couple weeks. Pray that it all goes smoothly.
  • Drama team is on hiatus for the summer, but I'm going to have to start looking at getting that going soon. Mike has been helping me in my Sunday school class, and I'll probably coerce him into helping out with the drama team as well.
  • Lori's xanga probably has all the relevant family updates, so I won't go into that sort of thing.
